Technology allows modern dentists to provide safe, effective, and efficient treatment. At Caputo Dental, we offer cutting-edge technology to give you the best dental care possible.
Our dentists make sure they are well-trained in the latest dental tech so that when they recommend new procedures and tools, you have as much information as possible. We want to make sure you are comfortable, happy, and at ease by using these dental technologies to enhance your visit.
1. Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry uses laser technology to provide more comfortable treatment by cauterizing and removing hard and soft tissues rather than using drills and files. Lasers are more precise at removing decay from within teeth.
They are also sterile, which means there is less chance of infection than traditional tools.
2. DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Scan
DIAGNOdent is a new method to detect even the tiniest areas of tooth decay, allowing for earlier intervention. It works by using a precise laser to scan your teeth. Then it sends an audio signal and produces a digital read-out to map the topography of your teeth.
The scan shows the fluorescence levels of your teeth, which your dentist uses to identify where cavities could develop on and between your teeth.
3. Digital X-Ray
Digital X-Ray is a modern, safe, and more reliable form of dental X-Ray. Digital X-Ray uses electronic sensors and much shorter bursts of radiation, reducing your exposure. Studies show that, compared to traditional X-Rays, the digital version exposes both patient and dentist to up to 90% less radiation.
Digital X-Ray also offers faster results. Whereas traditional X-ray methods rely on printouts that can take a long time to process, images created using digital X-ray technology are generated immediately and displayed on screen, which speeds up the entire procedure.
4. Intraoral Cameras
An intraoral camera is a device your dentist uses to examine the inside of your mouth in as much detail as possible. The instrument looks like an oversized pen and has a camera that can take high-definition pictures and videos of the inside of your mouth and then display them in real-time on a monitor. These devices improve upon the small hand mirrors used in traditional dentistry.
Using LED lights, a head that can rotate up to 90°, and effective zoom capabilities, intraoral cameras help your dentist make accurate diagnoses faster.
5. CAESY Cloud Patient Education
CAESY Cloud is a library of more than 250 multimedia presentations, including animations, full-motion videos, narration, and images, which help to educate our patients on the latest procedures and treatments available at Caputo Dental.
CAESY Cloud is accessible to all our patients, so you are well informed about your dental appointment. This can help reassure patients with dental anxiety and provide valuable information about preventative oral health care.
6. The Wand Computerized Anesthesia Delivery
The Wand is a method of delivering local anesthetic to the affected areas more comfortably and efficiently than the traditional syringe. A computer controls the flow and volume of local anesthetic to increase the patient’s comfort and avoid over-numbing the area. This means the anesthetic wears off quickly after your procedure, and you can eat and speak normally.
The Wand looks like a slim pencil. The mechanism can inject the anesthetic from the palette side of the dental arch (palatal injections) for increased efficacy and more comfort. A topical numbing agent is first placed on the injection site. This allows the anesthetic to flow through and into the required area without causing any discomfort.
