If you’ve always wanted to straighten your teeth, but do not want to contend with the appearance and discomfort of metal braces, then Invisalign® clear braces may be just what the doctor orders. Whether your reluctance is because of career concerns or because you simply don’t like the idea of being a “metal mouth,” then there is Invisalign®. Dr. Paul V. Caputo in Naperville, IL, has been delivering straight teeth and beautiful smiles to adults and teens with Invisalign® aligners for years.
What are Invisalign® Clear Braces?
As the name suggests, Invisalign® clear braces are the practically invisible way to straighten teeth. The braces are made of clear, PBA-free plastic and look more like plastic teeth retainers than traditional braces. And without the metal, there is nothing to poke inside of your cheeks or irritate your gums. You and everyone who looks at you will barely notice you’re wearing Invisalign® aligners.
Treatment with Invisalign®
The first step to straight teeth is meeting with Dr. Caputo for an exam and a discussion of your goals. Then with x-rays, pictures and impressions, Dr. Caputo will develop at treatment plan that the Invisalign® lab will use to produce your custom-designed aligners. This treatment plan will also allow you to see exactly how your teeth will move and what your smile will eventually look like.
Once the Invisalign® aligners are ready, you’ll wear a new set approximately every two weeks. As time passes, you’ll begin to see your teeth steadily move in to position. Dr. Caputo will want to see you for regular check-ups in order to monitor your progress. For most patients, the entire treatment process lasts about one year. Then, you’ll have the straight teeth and the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted.
